Motion and mileage take moxie.

A strong sense of direction is certainly helpful for any runner. No one wants to get lost on a jaunt. Even so, the most important characteristic of any endurance athlete may be effort. Training and racing successfully seem to boil down to basic intention, resolution, striving, and sweat – in a word: try.

Running takes moxie.

“Running Quotes by Non-Runners” choice comes from American cowboy and comic entertainer Will Rogers.

“Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over, if you just sit there.” Will Rogers (1879-1935)

Will Rogers wasn’t known as a runner, although he was likely pretty nimble. His first job in show business was a spot as a circus trick roper and rider, around the turn of the 20th Century.
